About Department of Pharmaceutics

Year of Establishment - M.Pharm: 1991

The Department of Pharmaceutics has well equipped laboratories, research facilities and innovative teaching and research activities. It acts as a center for learning concepts about the manufacturing and evaluation of various dosage forms. 

It offers a master and doctoral degree program. Master program in Pharmaceutics was started in the year of 1991 with an intake of 4 students and now it has been increased to 15 students.

The major focus of the department’s is to make the students to acquire knowledge and skill in the area of

• Formulate, store, dispense and analyze the prescription and/or manufacture the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics at the lab level.
• Quality assurance principle including legal and ethical aspects involving drugs, thus delivering a quality assured product as per the Pharmacopoeia, WHO and ICH standards. 
• Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP),
• Design, development and maintenance of aseptic areas, procedure for sterility and stability testing.

At the post graduate program is to provide students with a strong focus and training to prepare them for careers in academia, pharmaceutical industry, or research institutions.
